The GRAND BAZAAR @Turkey

DAY762 : SHOPPING HEAVEN ISTANBUL
Established in the 15th Century, Grand Bazaar is the largest indoor market in the Middle East. Nowadays, more than 4000 shops all the way through the market sell all sorts of souvenir such as rugs, jewelries and antiques. My wife went crazy shopping and lost her way so many times complaining that she can't never find the same shop again. 100% by my standard, Turkish design in general is a mix of cute and modest. Flashy but not all the way. I don't know if either transcontinental or Middle Eastern character, but it's fine and low-key at the same time. In my opinion, Western design is simple and rough as opposed to cute and gorgeous Eastern design. Black African, south of Sahara, is colorful and excessive, Moroccan has unique taste, and Egypt is nothing but camels and Tutankhamen.
