茶園からカトマンズに戻り、ちょっと懐かしみながら街を歩いてみる。2年前、ダンナがまさかのギックリ腰になって思いがけず長期滞在になったこの場所は、旅行者が集うタメルという地区。世界中からヒマラヤへと登山やトレッキングを目的にやってくる旅行者の拠点でもあり、土産物屋に並んで登山洋品店がいくつもある。長居しただけあって、勝手知ったるタメル地区。僕はこの街が好きだ。ここで山への道具を揃え、いざ山へと向かっていく人たちを見かけると、なんだか冒険が始まる場所のように思えてくる。2年前のギックリ腰が治った僕も、ここでエベレストへの装備を揃え、ガイドとポーターの情報を得て、エベレスト街道へと向かった。それを思い返すと今でもワクワクする。RPGゲームの最初の街のような始まり感がなんとも好きでたまらない。そんな街もなかなか無い。さて、そんなウキウキタメル滞在もそこそこに、僕たちは次の国へと向かいます。ここからはいつも通り、目的地のはっきりしない成り行き任せの旅。僕たちの旅もここから始まるのでございます！
DAY757 : THAMEL, THE CITY OF BEGINNING.
Back to Kathmandu from the plantation, we took a walk in the city remembering two years ago, I strained my back and stayed unexpectedly long in Thamel, which is the busiest area with many tourists. Since travelers from all over the world come here as their base point for trekking and climbing the Himalayas, there are various shops and vendors providing equipments and other goods. I had spent enough time to know my way around here after two years. I love it here so much. Looking at people preparing and getting ready for the Everest makes me feel so adventurous. I still get excited remembering myself two years back getting all the equipments and the information on my way to the Everest. Feels like a first town of an RPG game. There are not many places that. Anyway, it is time to leave here for the next stop without a certain destination as always. Now our journey begins!
