DAY 575 : IT'S ERITREA OVER THE MOUNTAIN
We decided to climb Mt. Taka. Although we didn't see anyone climbing up the last time we came, we just assumed it is not prohibited. The stones which looked quite small like pebbles from the far, were huge and blocking out sights. We were stuck in front of them trying to find the way out by following the wild goat's spoor. More and more ahead on the animal trail rocks under the scorching sun for almost two hours, we finally saw the peak above. The closer we reached the peak, the more we saw the horizon on the other side, the land of Eritrea. The flat land on the other side of Mt. Taka continues to another mountain range. At the peak, we were too excited about being in between the two horizons to leave before sunset, ended up crying and climbing down the mountain in the dark.
