一時帰国というのは、どれくらいの期間を持って"一時"と呼んでいいんだろう。アフリカ縦断中、あと地球半周を残して既にお金が尽きる目処が立ち、責任のなすりつけ合いがてら夫婦ゲンカに突入したのはマラウィの首都、リロングウェ。あれからまさかの一年が立ち、日本での「旅しない鈴木」への激しい風当たりにも耐え(笑、ようやく出発の運びへと相成りました。日本にいる間、所属させていただいている会社には、いつもにも増してお世話になり、お互いの家族や元同居人にもたくさん助けられ、そして少なからず僕たちを応援してくださっている方々の存在を改めて知り、好き勝手やっている僕らにとって有り難すぎる状況で感謝ばかりです。「旅する鈴木」という活動はこの一年間で広がって、テレビやラジオにも本にも出させていただき、DVDや書籍も出版、文化庁のメディア芸術祭にも推薦などなど、書いていてにやけてしまうような、とても嬉しく有難いことがたくさんありました。一時帰国バンザイです。
さて、そしてカイロ。一年の間に、情勢も為替も変わり、いままでとは少し違う部分もあるけれど、それでも僕らは旅をして、映像を撮って、いままで通り夫婦揉めながら、安全に楽しく世界を廻りたいと思います。皆さま、これからも、旅する鈴木、ぜひ見てやってくださいませ！
DAY 539 : Our journey restarted, again!
I wondered how long is "temporary". Still a half way through our round-world-trip, we got in a big fight over who is responsible for our financial shortage in Lilongwe, a capital city of Malawi. Surprisingly, it was almost a year ago we "temporary" returned to Tokyo. Ever since, people made fun of "Tabi-shinai(non-traveling) Suzuki", and now finally we are ready to take off again. I can't thank enough to people who took care of us, the company I belong to, our families and friends, and those who support us. The "Tabisuru-Suzuki" project has gained much public attention while we were here. We had many guest offers to radio and tv programs, my first DVD and book were publicized, and the project was officially selected at the Japan Media Arts Festival held by Agency for Cultural Affairs which all made us so happy and thankful. The money shortage meant something.
So here we are in Cairo. The situation has changed politically and economically worldwide. Accepting the changes, we keep traveling safe, making videos, fighting over stupid matters and enjoying the journey.
