新しい街に着いたら街歩き。時間がたくさんあるから出来ることだけれど、その街にごとに、僕らはだいたい5日間ほど滞在する。観光旅行だと、その場所だけで終わってしまうような贅沢な時間の使い方、でもこれが昔から好きで、いつもそんな感じ。5日ぐらいで、まず辺りの雰囲気や地理がつかめてくる。さらに毎日同じ店で水を買うようにし、同じ場所で食事をとる。そうすると、毎日来るあたふたとオーダーする日本人の顔をみな覚えてくれていて、全く知り合いのいないその街が途端に居心地よくなってしまう。旅中に出来るだけたくさんの場所に訪れたいのが本音だけど、これはこれで結構いい。のんびり。なので今日は、ナイル川を見に行って、昨日と同じレストランで食事をとる、それだけの1日。
DAY532 To Stay Long in One Place
The first thing we do when we arrive at a new place is to take a walk. I know it is a luxurious way of spending time abroad, but for us it takes about five days in each places to actually get to know the way things are. We buy water from the same shop and eat at the same restaurant to make our face look familiar to the locals. After a while it becomes comfortable all of a sudden. I can imagine It would have been nice to stop as many places as possible but I like it slow. Today, I visit the Niles, eat at the same restaurant from the day before and do nothing else.
