パリに居たのはたった数日。その後お仕事をいただいて、パリ、ロンドン、ニューヨーク、そして東京を、一ヶ月ほど撮影して廻った。無事仕事も終わり、旅再開にむけてパリへ戻る前々日、まさかの悲惨なテロが起こってしまった。さすがにこのタイミングは無理だと、パリ行きのチケットは泣く泣く破棄。泊まっていた東京のウィークリーマンションを延長し、今後の予定を夫婦大会議。喧々諤々した後、向かった先は、熱気むんむんのタイ。前から行ってみたかったチェンマイのお祭り、イーペン祭の時期が見事に重なったので、これは運命かしらと勢いでやって来た。初めて旅した二十歳そこそこの時以来、10年以上ぶりにやって来たタイは、びっくりするほど綺麗になっていた。アメリカ大陸ともアフリカとも全然違う、アジア。まとわりつくような湿気に、何だかとても、テンションがあがる。あとヨメが前髪切りました。
DAY621 : ANOTHER START FROM CHIANG MAI
A few days in Paris later, we went from Paris to London, New York and Tokyo for a month for a job offer I got. After I finished that, two days before the departure to Paris to restart the trip, there was the terrible terrorist attack, for god's sake. We had to give up the plane tickets and extended our weekly condo in Tokyo in order to rearrange our plan. A long argument later, we headed to Thailand for the Yeepeng Chiang Mai Festival. I felt some kind of force brought us here in Thailand, that the terrorist attack and the festival date matched. Compared to my last and first trip here when I was around 20 years old, it was surprisingly clean. Asia is so much different from American nor African continent, the sticky humid air unexpectedly got me excited. By the way, my wife got a bangs.
