マラケシュから夜行列車でタンジェまで。そこからフェリーに乗り換えジブラルタル海峡を超える。ようやくユーラシア大陸へ。しかし長かったアフリカ大陸。2012年秋、ヨーロッパから渡り、この大陸にいたのは丸2年。アフリカ、楽しかった。巨大なこの大陸は、地域や国が変われば、景色も人種も文化ももちろん変わり本当さまざまなのだけれど、でもどこにいても、なんか"アフリカらしい"かった。土臭さだったり、押しの強さだったり、浅はかさだったり、笑いだったり。ツッコミどころがあるというか、なんというか。北から南まで、どこにいてもそれを感じ、そしてクセになり、あれよあれよと滞在が延びていった。アフリカは面白い。危険さも含めて人間臭く、みんな欲望に素直で激しく、楽天的でドス黒い。This is Africaとはよく言ったものだと思う。そして、モロッコ。この国は本当に居心地がよく、それが僕らにとってはある意味危険で、結局10ヶ月も居座ってしまった。居てもいい空気というか、受け入れてくれなくもない土壌というか、ついついホテルを延泊し、それが延々と続いていった。たくさんの出会いもあり、たくさんの好きな場所も出来、名残惜しさはあるけれど、絶対にまた来てしまう気がするので、今は急ぎ国を出ようと思う。
DAY605 : Bye bye, Africa.
A 5 hours midnight train ride from Marrakesh to Tangier, transferred to a ferry that cross the Strait of Gibraltar, we finally reached to the Eurasia. Since autumn 2012, we spent two years in Africa. It was fun. This gigantic continent provided us with such a variety of landscape, people, culture and language across nations and districts which I found a common "Africa-ness". I don't know if it was the smell of soil or the people's attitude such as aggression, shallowness, and humor. There was something about Africa from the north to the south, that hooked us and kept us from leaving. Africa is charming. Dangerous and humane. People just follow their instinct. Hard, optimistic and dark. And Morocco, it was way too comfortable for us to leave and made us stay for 10 months long after all. We felt welcomed and kept extending hotels. We will miss all the good people and nice places which we have to leave behind with a promise to come back again.
