旅766日目 : ちょっと住みたいイズミール
トルコ第3の都市イズミール。素晴らしいところ。エーゲ海に面した丘にびっしりと家々が並ぶ街並みに、薄い潮の匂いとカラッとした風が気持ちいい。滞在中一度も釣れているのを見かけなかったが、海岸にはいつも朝早くから釣り人が並んでいて、おじさんたちが真剣に海を見つめている。一年のうち300日晴天が続くという気候は嬉しいほどに気持ちよく、僕らはこの街をどんどん好きになっていく。海岸から中規模のバザールを抜けるといきなりローマ時代の遺跡アゴラが現れたり、丘の上に少しだけ残る城壁から街が一望できたりと見所もそれなりにあるが、この街には観光で来るというよりも、ちょっと住んでみたいと思える何かがある。それは、この気候と、都市なのにどこかゆったりとした人々なのかなと思いつつ、ちょっと不動産屋をのぞいてみたりする。
DAY766 : IZMIR, I CAN SEE MYSELF LIVING HERE
Izmir, third largest city in Turkey, is a wonderful place. Walking down the hill of residential area and feeling the ocean breeze from the Aegean Sea is quite soothing. There are old men staring the ocean by the coast and fishing from the early morning. It's just so nice and comfortable that they say the sun shines 300 days a year. Through the bazaar from the coast, there is a Roman remains, Agora. We can overlook the whole town from the old castle wall remains on the hill. Besides all those sightseeing spots, there is something about this town that makes us want to live. Wondering around, our step slow down by the real estate sign.
