中国パワーすげえ。アフリカを旅して、ホント良く思うこの言葉。世界中で中華レストランはよく見かけるけれど、ここアフリカではそれ以上の存在感を確実に持っている。道路工事は中国人現場監督が現地の人に指示を出していたり、その工事に使う重機も中国製だったり、小さな村にも中国人経営の商店があって、村人の生活用品はそこでしか買えないものも多い。レソトなんかは、国会議事堂を中国移民たちが自費で建てたとか。アフリカ大陸での中国の影響は計り知れなくて、その現実はちょっとやそっとじゃ覆せないとこまで来てるなぁなんて思っていた矢先、ここリロングウェの中華スーパーの巨大さ綺麗さにとどめを刺された。中国人はすごいと心底思う昨今。日本も頑張れ！
I am overly overwhelmed by Chinese power. Everywhere in Africa, it occurs to me quite often. I see chinese restaurants all over the world but in Africa it is way more than just that. Road constructions with chinese supervisors and heavy equipments made in china. Chinese owned grocery shops in the tiny villages sell the basic supplies. In Lesotho, chinese build the parliament building with their own cost. It almost feels like nothing can change the fact that the continent of Africa has an enormous impact from China. And here I am in front of a huge and gorgeous supermarket in Lilongwe. I am truly amazed. Keep up, Japan!
