気づくと減っている、リロングウェの宿のニワトリ。毎日お米やらパンやらをあげ続けているヨメとしては、若干複雑な気分そうだけど、間違いなく食べられてますよ宿のオーナーに。他のアフリカ諸国と変わりなくこの国にも貧富の差は大きくあるようで、そのオーナーファミリーは車も持っていて、facebook交換とかしてしまう感じ。でもスタッフの人は、僕らが料理して残った牛肉の骨をもらいに来て煮込んでご飯のおかずにする感じ。街ではミニバスに並んでBMWが走ってるし、アフリカは色んな部分がリアルだとホント思う。さて、そんなスタッフの彼の前でニワトリに食べ物をあげる瞬間は、彼の「オレにくれよ」目線が大変痛くて、ちょっとへこむ。
そして誰も気づかないと思いますが、こっそりアップ日時をぶっ飛ばしました。宿に引き蘢ってた日々が積もり、そのおよそ旅と言えない日々を、「旅してない鈴木」として無かったことにしたいと思います。これでリアルタイムから１ヶ月遅れぐらいになりました。
There are some chickens missing day by day at the motel in Lilongwe. I feel sorry for my wife who keeps feeding them with rice and breads everyday. Obviously they are eaten by the motel owner. Like elsewhere in Africa, the gap between the rich and the poor is wide in Lilongwe. The motel owner family owns a car and a facebook account. On the other hand, the motel workers come to us for some leftovers from our kitchen to make dinner. And outside on the street, there are BMWs driving right by those aged mini vans which makes me realize many things about the reality. By the way, what makes me feel bad is the eyes of the motel workers when we feed the chickens.
I don't know if anybody notice but there has been a big gap between the blog updates. I've been inside the motel for a quite a while and decided to ignore those "un-traveling days of Suzuki". I am about a month behind.
