実はこっそり、世界中で買い集めているアンティーク品。高価なものや大きなものは買えないけれど、それでも各地の蚤の市を見つけては歩き回り、交渉しては買い漁る。将来、各国で買った品物に囲まれたオフィスを作れたら、なんて夢見てみる。そしてやって来たのは、ベルリン最大の蚤の市、マウアーパークのマーケット。さすがドイツらしく、無骨なデザインのものが多く、渋い。でもアーティスティックなものも多く、意味不明な物から信号機まで、本当にたくさんある。今回の戦利品は、古い百科事典の挿絵と、小さなカメラの露出計。ちなみに今まで買った一番大きな買い物は、モロッコの路上で見つけた巨大な蓄音機。
I have secretly collected antiques from all over the world. Although I can't afford anything too expensive nor too big, I have stopped by every flea markets I've found and shopped through negotiations, dreaming about setting up my own office with those items from around the world. Here I am, in the biggest flea market in Berlin, the Flohmarkt am Mauerpark. Many of the sold items are simple and modest as German design, and some are artistic, including some unidentifiable stuff and an old traffic light. This time I bought some framed pictures from old encyclopedia and a small exposure meter. So far the biggest item was a gigantic phonograph from the street in Morocco.
