スーダンのビザは、申請後、結局3日で取れた。いよいよエジプトを抜け、隣国へ向かう。ここアスワンのあるエジプト南部から、スーダンの北部の砂漠地帯を、ヌビア地方と呼び、そこに住む褐色肌の人々はヌビア人と言うそうな。アラブ系のエジプト人とは見た目も、性格もどこかちょっと違う彼らは、ヌビアということに誇りを持っている。ここアスワンでもよく、ヌビアという言葉を聞き、立派なヌビア博物館もある。ということで、北部スーダンへの予習も兼ねて、ナイル対岸のヌビア村へと向かう。
DAY 563 : TO THE NUBIAN VILLAGE OVER THE NILE
After all, they gave us Sudan visa three days after they accepted our applications. We are finally leaving Egypt and heading to the next country. The region along the Nile river located in northern Sudan and southern Egypt is called Nubia and the brown-skinned natives are called Nubian. They respect their roots being different from Egyptians with Arabic origin, often use the word "Nubia" and even have an excellent museum of Nubia. So now, we are going to a Nubian village across the Nile river for the northern Sudan preparation.
